Even as a child, he proved to be very clever but incredibly flighty. He would pick up an endless supply of skills but give them up before he ever managed to master any. His somewhat bemused parents went along with it, supplying classes and tutors for whatever Kier decided he wanted to learn at the moment. Things were much the same with his schooling. Despite being sent to the best schools his parent's money could afford, Kier persisted in learning quickly, but easily becoming bored. He did manage to graduate both high school and college, after swtiching through about five different majors. Still restless, after his graduation, Kier announced that he was going on a journey to find himself and promptly took off before finding out his parent's opinion on the matter. Wandering aimlessly and working whatever jobs he can find when necessary, Kier has since decided to find his way to Tampa and visit his errant cousin Rick, for lack of anything better to do. Alice first encounters it at the Duchess's house in her kitchen, and then later outside on the branches of a tree, where it appears and disappears at will, engaging Alice in amusing but sometimes vexing conversation. The cat sometimes points out philosophical points that annoy or baffle Alice. It does, however, appear to cheer her up when it turns up suddenly at the Queen of Hearts' croquet field, and when sentenced to death baffles everyone by making its body disappear, but its head remain visible, sparking a massive argument between the executioner and the King and Queen of Hearts about whether or not something that does not have a body can indeed be beheaded.
